The Sweeting Swing band have been performing at venues around the Essex/Suffolk border for over 35 years.

Our varied and fun repertoire spans the decades from the golden era of big band swing in the 1940s to the current day, encompassing swing, trad jazz, latin american, rock and pop. Guaranteed to get everyone up dancing!

We have performed all over the area, including Colchester Arts Centre, Colchester Moot Hall, Ipswich Corn Exchange, The Princes Theatre and Westcliff Theatre in Clacton, and we have been regular favourites at Brightlingsea Music Festival and Colchester Castle Park bandstand. We are also a popular choice for private functions including family parties, weddings, dinner dances and masonics, at venues which include Braxted Park, Boreham House, Channels (Chelmsford), Fennes (Bocking), All Manor of Events (Ipswich), The Kingscliff Hotel (Clacton), Stoke by Nayland Resort and Hintelsham Hall..

The core line-up of 9 players makes it possible to get the ‘Big Band sound’ in venues where there is not sufficient room for a full-sized Big Band. But we can size up to that full Big Band size, including vocalist, as required.
